ปัญหาของทีมขอนแก่น

คือว่ามีวันเสาร์ที่ 17 ก.ค. 2554 ผมได้ดูการถ่ายทอดสดการแข่งขั้นฟุตบอลมูลนิธิไทยคมเอฟเอคัพ 2011 รอบ 3 ระหว่างที่ พัทยา ยูไนเต็ด กับ ขอนแก่น เอฟซี ผลปรากฏว่า พัทยาชนะไป 4-0 ผมนั้งดูเกมการแข่งขั้นผมเห็นจุดอ่อนของทีมขอนแก่นมากเลย
สิ่งแรกที่ผมเห็นคือ ประสบการณ์ และความสามารถเฉพาะตัวที่ทีมขอนแก่นมีน้อยกว่าทีมพัทยา อยู่มากเลยที่เดี่ยวดูได้จากจังหวะการส่งบอล การรับบอล มีความแน่นนอนต่างกันมาก
อย่างที่ 2 คือรูปร่างนักเตะของทีมขอนแก่นเล็ก และบางกว่ากันมาก เลยจังหวะปะทะ จึงสู้ไม่ได้
อย่างที่ 3 คือ กองหลังตัวเล็กและประสบการณ์ไปหน่อย ก็ดูอย่างทีมพัทยา มี นิเวส ศิริวงศ์ ที่มีทั้งประสบการณ์ และรูปร่างที่สูงใหญ่ แต่ทีมของแก่นไม่มี
อย่างที่ 4 คือ ผู้รักษาประตูตัวเล็กไปหน่อย

นั้นผมของแนะนำวีธีการแก้หน่อยนะ(ผมไม่ได้แก้หรอกแต่อยากแนะนำ)
คือ ซื้อนักแตะมาเพิ่ม ควรเป็นนักฟุตบอลที่รูปร่างใหญ่และมีประสบการณ์ จะเป็นต่างชาติหรือในประเทศก็ได้ ของให้เคยเล่นในลีกสูงสุดสัก 2-3 ปี โดยต่ำแหน่งที่จะเสริมคือ กลองหลังตัวกลาง ผู้รักษาประตู

สวัสดีครับวันมี้มีข้อเสนอใหม่ๆมาแนะนำ คือ ผมอยากจะให้นักฟุตบอลที่มีอายุต่ำกว่า 20 ปีบริบูรณ์ สามารถย้ายสโมสรได้ตลอด คือผมรู้สึกว่าตั้งแต่ไทยลีกออกกฎเรื่องนักฟุตบอลต่างชาติ ที่ส่งชื่อ ได้ 7 ลงได้ 5 มันทำให้นักเตะที่มีอายุน้อยไม่ค่อยได้มีโอกาศลงสนามมาเท่าที่ควร จึงทำให้นักแตะอายุน้อยไม่สามารถพัฒนาความสามารถได้เท่าที่ควร เราจึงควรจะเปิดโอกาศให้เขา ได้สโมสรที่มีให้โอกาศเขาเล่น เราแค่ไม่ต้องไปกำหนดกรอบวันเวลาการย้ายสโมสรสำหรับนักฟุตบอลที่มีอายุต่ำกว่า 20 ปีบริบูรณ์ แต่เรากำหนดแค่ว่าปีหนึ่งย้ายสโมสรได้กี่ครั้งก็พอ

ผมว่าน่ามาจากการที่ AFC กำหนดมาว่าสโมสรแต่ละประเทศต้องทำอะไรบ้างจึงจะผ่านการตรวจจาก AFC ทำให้สโมสรแต่ละทีมในประเทศไทยมีการบริหารทีมที่ดีขึ้น มีการหาคนดูมากขึ้น มีการดึงนักเตะดีๆมาเสริมทีม ทำให้มีคนดูมากขึ้น

ในส่วนตัวผมนั้นคิดว่านะจะเพราะมีทีม เมืองทอง-หนองจอก ยูไนเต็ด เข้าแข่งขั่นในปีที่ผ่านมา เหตุผลที่คิดอย่างนั้นเพราะทีมเมืองทองมี สยามกีฬา เป็นที่โปรโมททีม มีการถ่ายทอดสด มีเทปการแข่งขั้น มีรายการข่าวเกี่ยวกับบอลไทย และที่สนามมีคนดูเป็นจำนวนมาก ทำให้ผู้ชมทางบ้าน สนใจเข้าไปดูการแข่งแข่งมากขึ้น

โควต้านักเตะต่างชาติ 5 คน

ช่วงนี้ฟุตบอลไทยพรีเมียร์ลีกของไทยหยุดพักแข่งขัน และหลายทีมเตรียมทีมเพื่อสู้ศึกฤดูกาลหน้าทั้งการเก็บตัวเล่นกระชับมิตรกับ ทีมต่างๆ แต่ทางไทยพรีเมียร์ลีกฤดูกาล 2010 จะอนุญาตให้แต่ละสโมสรใช้โควต้านักเตะต่างชาติลงเล่นได้เพิ่มเป็น 5 คน จากเดิม 3 คนที่ใช้กันมาก่อนหน้านี้ และที่สำคัญนั้นสามารถลงทะเบียนได้มากถึง 7 คนอีกด้วย

ว่ากันว่ากฏนี้หลายสโมสรเห็นด้วยโดยเฉพาะทีมใหญ่ที่มีกำลังทุนมหาศาล และพวกเขาจะได้เปรียบที่สามารถซื้อนักเตะต่างชาติดีๆมาร่วมทีม และจะเป็นการผูกขาดของทีมไม่กี่ทีมหรือไม่ประการใด

เหตุผลที่ไทยพรีเมียร์ลีกอ้างมานั้นว่าต้องการพัฒนานักเตะไทยให้ต่อสู้ ดิ้นรนเพื่อเป็นตัวจริงในทีมให้ได้หาไม่แล้วจะไม่ได้เล่น แน่นอนเหตุผลนี้ทุกคนทราบ

แต่ในทางกลับกันมันจะเป็นการปิดกั้นโอกาสของนักเตะเยาวชนไทยไม่สามารถเกิดได้เลยเพราะพวกเขาแทบไม่มีโอกาสได้แสดงผลงานด้วยซ้ำ

ฟุตบอลเล่นกัน 11 คน นั่นหมายความว่าเมื่อเปิดโอกาสให้แต่ละทีมใช้นักเตะต่างชาติลงเล่นได้ 5 คนจะทำให้นักเตะมีโอกาสอีกแค่ 6 คนเท่านั้นเอง สมมุติว่าทุกทีมส่งผู้เล่นต่างชาติลงเล่นครบ 5 คนทุกนัดแสดงว่านักเตะไทยก็จะได้เล่นแค่ 96 คนจากทั้งหมด 176 คน

ไม่เข้าใจเหมือนกันว่าไทยพรีเมียร์ลีกคิดอะไรอยู่เพราะว่านโยบายของสหพันธ์ ฟุตบอลแห่งชาติเอเซีย (เอเอฟซี) พยายามที่จะพัฒนานักเตะเอเซียจนกระทั่งมีกฏ 3+1 (นักเตะต่างชาติลงเล่นได้ 3 คน และอีก 1 คือนักเตะเอเซีย) นั่นหมายความว่าอนุญาตให้นักเตะต่างชาติลงเล่นในสนามได้ 3 คนแต่หากทีมไหนมีนักเตะเอเซียอยู่ด้วยก็สามารถส่งลงได้อีก 1 คนรวมเป็นแล้วสูงสุดถึง 4 คน

เจตนาของเอเอฟซีเพื่อต้องการให้นักเตะเอเซียเล่นอยู่ในลีกของประเทศต่างๆใน เอเซียด้วยกันจะเป็นการช่วยพัฒนานักฟุตบอลเอเซียนั่นเองเรียกว่าให้แต่ละ ทีมอย่างน้อยก็ซื้อนักเตะเอเซียไปอยู่ในทีม

ดูเหมือนว่ากฏนี้สโมสรต่างๆในลีกที่เจริญแล้วต่างก็เห็นด้วยทั้งนั้นเลย และขานรับทำตามนโยบาย ดังกล่าวแม้กระทั่งคิว-ลีก ของกาตาร์ หรือสหรัฐอาหรับเอมิเรตส์ลีก ซึ่งเคยใช้โควต้านักเตะต่างชาติ 5 คนในทีมเพราะยุคหนึ่งสมัยหนึ่งพวกเขามองว่าจะพัฒนานักฟุตบอลลีกพวกเขาให้ ก้าวหน้าต่อไปส่งผลดีต่อทีมชาติตัวเองด้วย แต่ในที่สุดไม่ใช่ตอบตอบทีมชาติพวกเขาถอยหลังก็กลับมาเห็นด้วยในแนวทางของเอ เอฟซี

ไม่ต้องพูดถึงเจ-ลีก ของญี่ปุ่นซึ่งเป็นลีกนำร่องของลีกเอเซียทั้งมวล และเป็นเพียงแค่ลีกเดียวในเอเซียที่ผ่านกฏเกณฑ์ของเอเอฟซีทุกข้อได้คะแนน เต็ม 100 ในการประเมินการปฏิรูปโครงสร้างระบบสโมสรลีกอาชีพในเอเซียเมื่อสองปีที่ผ่าน มาก็เป็นลีกแรกที่คิดค้นกฏ 3+1 ออกมาใช้ในลีกของตัวเองก่อนที่เอเอฟซีจะคิดด้วยซ้ำไป

ทางเค-ลีก เกาหลีใต้ก็เช่นกัน หรือแม้แต่ไชน่าซูเปอร์ลีกของจีนมีวิธีการของตัวเองเพิ่มเข้ามาอีกคือทุกทีม ต้องส่งนักเตะอายุไม่เกิน 20 ปีลงเล่นอย่างน้อย 2 คนในแต่ละนัด และไม่อนุญาตเซ็นสัญญาผู้รักษาประตูชาวต่างชาติมาร่วมทีมด้วยเพราะพวกเขา ต้องการพัฒนาผู้รักษาประตูของตัวนั่นคือผลที่พวกเขาจะได้ในทีมชาติเต็มๆจึง ไม่แปลกใจเลยที่ผู้รักษาประตูของพวกเขาเก่งไม่เป็นประตูน้ำเหมือนอย่างทีม ชาติบางชาติ

เอ-ลีก ออสเตรเลียใช้นโยบาย 4+1 (นักเตะต่างชาติ 3 และ นักเตะเอเซีย 1 พร้อมกับนักเตะรับเชิญ 1 ) โดยนักเตะรับเชิญจะเซ็นสัญญาร่วมทีมได้แต่ต้องเล่นไม่เกิน 9 นัดเท่านั้น

หรือแม้แต่ในลีกอาชีพของชาติใหญ่ๆแถบตะวันออกกลางทั้งซาอุดิ อาระเบีย ไปสู่อิหร่าน หรือ อูซเบกิถานในเอเซียกลางต่างก็สร้างผลงานดีในเวทีระดับเอเซีย หรือแม้แต่ระดับโลกที่ตัวแทนจากแชมป์เอเซียไปคว้าอันดับสามสโมสรโลกมาสามปี ติดต่อกันแล้วล่าสุดคือโพฮัง สตีลเลอร์ส จากเกาหลีใต้เมื่อสัปดาห์ที่แล้วนี่เอง

และชาติอาเซี่ยนด้วยกันกับไทยเราอย่างเวียดนามก็เป็นเหมือนกับชาติอื่นๆแต่ พวกเขาได้เปรียบตรงประเทศพวกเขาเพิ่งเปลี่ยนกฏหมายการถือสองสัญชาติได้เมื่อ ปลายปีที่แล้วและนำมาบังคับใช้เมื่อต้นปีนี้ดังนั้นแต่ละสโมสรจะใช้วิธีการ ดึงเอานักเตะไปถือสัญชาติเวียดนามอีกสัญชาติเพื่อจะได้เล่นได้ในโควต้าของ นักเตะเวียดนามเต็มๆอย่างเช่นกรณีสโมสรฮอง อันห์ ยาลาย ที่ให้นิรุต สุระเสียง กับ ศักดา เจิมดี ถือสัญชาติเวียดทำให้สองคนนี้ไม่ใช่นักเตะต่างชาติ แต่ไทยทำไม่ได้เพราะกฏหมายว่าด้วยสัญชาติของไทยบุคคลใดที่ถือสองสัญชาติขึ้น ไปเมื่ออายุ 20 ปีบริบูรณ์ต้องเลือกสัญชาติใดสัญชาติหนึ่ง

ถามว่านักเตะทีมชาติของประเทศเหล่านี้เก่งไหม ดีกว่าไทยมากไหมหรือล้าหลังกว่าเรา คำตอบมันประจักษ์แน่ชัดลองกลับไปคิดให้ดีนะว่าสิ่งที่กำลังทำนี้เอื้อ ประโยชน์ต่อการพัฒนานักฟุตบอลไทยหรือไม่หากคิดว่าดีแล้วก็ทำไปเถอะเพราะไม่ มีใครยกเลิกลีกของท่านได้หรอกยกเว้นสปอนเซอร์ และศรัทธาของแฟนบอล

แต่ศรัทธาของแฟนบอลจะมีพลังยิ่งใหญ่เหนื่อสิ่งอื่นใด

สวัสดีคับหลังจากที่ฟุตบอลจบฤดูกาลแล้วผมจะเริ่มเขียนบทความที่จะพัฒนาฟุตบอล วันนี้จะเริ่มด้วยการจะทำอย่างใรให้เยาวชนใทยอายุ 16 ปีใปฟุตบอลโลกรุ่นอายุใม่เกิน 17 ปี โดยส่วนตัวผมมันใจว่า เยาวชนใทยอายุ 16 ปี ฟุตบอลโลกรุ่นอายุใม่เกิน 17 ปี ใด้ง่าย ว่าชุดอื่น
เพราะมาตราฐานฟุตบอลระดับเด็กยังใม่ห่างกันมาก นั้นใปเริ่มเลยแล้วกัน
1.เราต้องวางเป่าหมายใว้ที่ต้องใป ฟุตบอลโลกรุ่นอายุใม่เกิน 17 ปี ให้ใด้เท่านั้นใม่ใด้ถือว่าล้มเลว
2.หาผู้จัดการที่มที่ดีมีความสามารถ
3 ขั้นต่อใปคือการวางแผนการทำงานให้ดีให้เป็นมืออาชีพ

Lu?s Filipe Madeira Careiro Figo, OIH (pron. IPA [lu'i? fi'lip? m?'dej?? k?'?ej?u 'figu]) (born November 4, 1972 in Lisbon, Portugal) is a Portuguese footballer who is widely regarded as one of the world's top players of recent years. In his homeland Figo is considered by some second only to Eusebio as Portugal’s greatest ever player. He plays as a midfielder and winger, currently for Inter Milan. Lu?s Figo will join the Saudi club Al-Ittihad on the 1st of July 2007. Figo will join the club on a free transfer as his contract with Internazionale expired, but the salary for Figo is believed to be one of the highest in Arabian football.
Known as the original Golden Boy (a name which now belongs to Cristiano Ronaldo, a teammate from the Portugal national football team), Figo gained fame as the main footballer behind Portugal's prominent Golden Generation that consisted of fellow legends like Rui Costa, and was the reason why the term came into use.
Figo was the 2000 European Footballer of the Year, the 2001 FIFA World Player of the Year, and was named amongst the FIFA 100. Known for his exceptional trickery and dribbling skills on either wing (though he predominantly plays on the right), Figo is one of the few footballers to have played for both the Spanish rival clubs FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Figo started his career at Sporting Clube de Portugal, a club which developed many other great Portuguese players. He won his first senior international cap in 1991. Prior to that, he won the Under-20 World Championships and Under-16 European Championships with Portugal junior sides, alongside compatriot Rui Costa and a significant part of his nation's so called 'golden generation' in football. In 1995, Figo looked poised to join one of the big clubs of Europe, but a dispute between Italian clubs Juventus F.C. and Parma, Figo having signed contracts with both clubs, resulted in an Italian 2-year transfer ban on Figo, effectively stopping any moves to Italy. However, the situation was eventually resolved for Figo, with a move to Spanish club FC Barcelona, under coach Johan Cruijff, and within four years he became a fan-favourite, captain and symbol of the Catalan side.
In 2000, his switch to Barcelona's arch-rival Real Madrid, for a then world transfer record ?38.7 million at the time, only intensified the great animosity between the two clubs. The move was hurtful to Barcelona supporters especially after he spent the summer swearing he would not transfer to Madrid. He went from being one of the most cherished players in Catalonia to being the most hated one. There was a short-lived website, AntiFigo.com, devoted to insult "Judas Figo". He missed his highly anticipated first return to the Nou Camp due to injury; in 2002, Barcelona's ground was almost closed after objects (including a pig's head, whiskey bottles, etc.) were thrown at Figo, while massive chants calling him Pesetero (which can be roughly translated to money whore) echoed in the stadium; and finally, during the final match of Euro 2004 between Greece and Portugal, a Bar?a fan known as Jimmy Jump ran across the field and threw a FC Barcelona flag at Figo in an apparent act of defiance.

Despite the niggling detractors and all the critics' cries that he was a vastly 'overrated' player, Figo played out some of the best attacking football ever seen in both an individual and in his Real Madrid team. It was not hard to see why though, given that Figo was one of the linchpins at the heart of an ever increasing star studded squad that included Zinedine Zidane, Steve McManaman, Fernando Hierro, Roberto Carlos, Ronaldo, and Ra?l Gonz?lez, and dubbed the 'Greatest Club in the World' first, and then, officially crowned as the 'Club of the Century' by FIFA in the year he joined. Alongside his equally illustrious team mates, Real Madrid with Figo at the core swept the titles for the next three years under coach Vicente Del Bosque.
On August 18, 2004, Figo announced that he would "take a break" from international football. In April 2005 he announced to be ready to return, as he was sidelined in Real Madrid, and the next month Luiz Felipe Scolari announced he would talk to him about his return. He agreed to return on 13 May and resumed his international career in the match between Portugal and Slovakia on June 4. This received mixed feelings from Portuguese fans: some saw his return as fixing something that should not have happened, others were fearful of the "concessions" Scolari made to bring him back.
Figo captained the squad during the 2006 World Cup, leading the team to the semi-finals, its furthest advance in the tournament since 1966. However, France eliminated them 1-0. Ricardo Carvalho made the doubtful penalty, which French captain Zinedine Zidane promptly scored; it stood as the winning goal. Figo himself had a chance to tie the game off of Fabien Barthez's fumble, but he headed the ball over the net. At the end of the match, Zidane and Figo, formerly teammates on Real Madrid during the club's glory years, swapped shirts and hugged. The third place playoff caused some controversy as Figo did not start; Pauleta captained the team in his place. However, Portugal fell behind 0-2 to hosts Germany and Figo replaced Pauleta in the 77th minute, regaining his captaincy during the substitution. Although Germany scored another goal shortly after Figo's entrance, he ended his final cap for his country on a high note as he set up Nuno Gomes's goal in the 88th minute to help Portugal claw back a marker.
The leader of Portugal's 'golden generation', Figo won a FIFA World Youth Championship in 1991, the same year he made his senior debut against Luxembourg, at 16 October 1991, in a friendly match, that ended 1-1, when he was only 18 years old. He has performed at the highest level ever since, gracing Euro 96, Euro 2000, and the 2002 and 2006 FIFA World Cup. He announced his retirement from international football following the UEFA EURO 2004? final defeat by Greece, having won 117 caps and scored 31 goals. However, in June 2005 he reversed his decision and returned for 2006 World Cup qualifying wins against Slovakia and Estonia. He again vowed to retire from international football after the 2006 World Cup and made a cameo appearance (played around 10 minutes at the end of the game) in Portugal's last game of the tournament, the third-place play-off, in which he set up Portugal's only goal for Nuno Gomes.
It was with FC Barcelona from 1995 that the career of the 'Lion King' really took off: Figo won a UEFA Cup Winners' Cup in 1996/97, successive Primera Divisi?n titles and went on to appear 172 times for the Blaugrana, scoring 30 goals. Figo was able to garner many plaudits while at the Nou Camp, such as Sir Alex Ferguson, who it has been later claimed almost brought him to Manchester United before Euro 2000 in a swap deal with David Beckham.
In 2000 came his controversial, world-record transfer to Real Madrid CF. The move caused outrage among Barcelona fans and many others baulked at the €65m fee. Yet Figo justified the investment by helping Madrid to the Primera Divisi?n title and UEFA Champions League semi-finals as well as winning the FIFA World Footballer of the Year award. In 2001/02, he went one better, playing through injury against Bayer Leverkusen as Madrid prevailed 2-1. Figo also occupied a major role as Madrid won the 2003 Spanish title, scoring ten times. The success made up for the disappointment of a Champions League semi-final loss to Juventus F.C., but the next season, despite Figo's nine league goals, Madrid finished fourth and lost in the Champions League last eight and Copa del Rey final.
He struck four goals in the Champions League group stage in 2004/2005 but it was another mixed campaign for Madrid, Real Madrid coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo had a falling-out with Figo after he relegated the Portugal international to the bench for the second half of the 2004/2005 Primera Liga season and David Beckham was moved to the right. It was widely believed that Figo would leave Los Merengues for first-team football elsewhere. During the off-season, he was linked with a move to the English Premiership with Liverpool or to Serie A's Inter Milan. Given permission to leave by Madrid, on August 5, 2005, Figo moved to Inter on a free transfer and a two-year deal worth ?6 million.
In December 2006, Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad reported Figo would transfer to the club in January 2007[2]. Figo traveled to Saudi Arabia to sign a contract, but after talks with Inter Milan owner and President Massimo Moratti, Figo remained in the club and renewed his contract until the end of the 2007-08 season.[3] Thus, a statement made on January 3, 2007, on the official Inter website declaring: "There are no negotiations for the transfer of Luis Figo to another club. The recent news of a possible transfer of the Portuguese midfielder is, therefore, completely groundless." (Inter.it) Despite this statement, on January 5th, 2007, it was announed on the website of La Gazzetta dello Sport, that Figo had signed a contract in Saudi Arabia, starting on July 1st, 2007.[4] On August 30 Figo said that he is still considering in staying Inter for 2007/08. He was deeply touched by the love of the Inter fans and need of him for president Massimo Moratti.

Ibrahimovi? started professional football with the Swedish club Malm? FF in the 1999 season (Allsvenskan, the Swedish top division, begins in spring, not in autumn like in Central and Southern Europe). During his stay at the club, Ars?ne Wenger tried to persuade him to join Arsenal but Malm? did not allow the transfer.
Other than Wenger, Leo Beenhakker also showed interest in Ibrahimovi? after observing him practicing in La Manga, Spain. Watching Ibrahimovi? score an amazing goal in a training game against Norwegian side Moss, Beenhakker became convinced of his talent. He went back to Amsterdam and on March 22, 2001, a deal between Ajax and Malm? regarding Zlatan's transfer to Amsterdam was announced and in July of the same year, he joined Ajax for record-breaking €7.8 million. The deal is by far the most lucrative any Swedish side has struck.
Under manager Co Adriaanse, Ibrahimovi? received little exposure. Adriaanse was sacked in November 29, however, and Ibrahimovi?'s fortune started to change with the arrival of Ronald Koeman. Following Koeman's arrival, Ibrahimovi? was consistently chosen in Ajax's starting lineup. Ajax then went on to win the Eredivisie.
The next year Ibrahimovi? had a major breakthrough at the biggest stage of European football, UEFA Champions League. In his first game ever in the Champions League against French Champions Olympique Lyonnais, Ibrahimovi? scored two goals, including a true masterpiece when he dribbled past Brazilian Edmilson before shooting past the goalkeeper from a difficult angle. He helped Ajax make it all the way to the quarter-finals where they were narrowly beaten by eventual winners A.C. Milan.
The Champions League success took its toll in the domestic league, however, and Ajax finished second behind PSV. In the 2002-2003 season, Ajax was back at the top of Eredivisie, though. Ibrahimovi? continued to do well both in the league and, in particular, in the Champions League, scoring another spectacular goal against Celta Vigo, while in a Group H match against Milan on September 16, 2003, Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso was sent off late in second-half injury time after backhanding Ibrahimovi? in the face. In spite of these incidents Ajax did not advance past the group stage.
The next season started brightly for Ibrahimovi?. On August 22, he scored an incredible goal against NAC Breda which was eventually voted the best goal of the year by Eurosport's viewers. Maradona-like, he dribbled past more or less the entire defense, feinting continuously and even fooling the cameraman in one of his fake shots before beating the goalkeeper and calmly putting the ball in the back of the net.
On August 31, 2004, the final day of the summer transfer window, Ibrahimovi? moved from Ajax to Juventus for a €19 million transfer fee. He made it rather quickly in to the starting eleven. This was due in part to the fact that the team's top scorer, David Tr?z?guet was injured, in part to Zlatan being one of coach Fabio Capello's favorite players (Capello had tried to get him already at Roma), but mostly thanks to Ibrahimovi?'s fine performances. He scored 16 goals, and this was in a league that is considered to be very hard for strikers to score in (especially for a foreign striker).
Near the end of the Serie A season Juve reportedly rejected a €70 million bid for him from Spanish power Real Madrid. This later proved to be nothing more than a PR stunt initiated by Ibrahimovi?'s agent in order to raise his market value. Nonetheless, he was voted the player of the season in 2004-05 by the fans of Juventus. Zlatan was nominated to the 2005 FIFA world player of the year along with thirty other top players and finished as number eight. On November 14, 2005, he was awarded Guldbollen, a prize given to the best Swedish footballer of the year.
The following season was a more turbulent one for Ibrahimovi?. He had always had problems with Swedish journalists and these problems mounted as his success grew. During autumn, Ibrahimovi?'s role in Juventus attack changed, and he became less of a goalscorer. He moved more and more to the sidelines, taking much part in the build-up play, especially as a target player, a role for which he was suited considering his exceptional physical strength. He thus started to make more assists than goals.
Even though he played well, arguably the best football he had produced so far, criticism against the lack of goals started to increase. And in spring, when Ibrahimovi? lost most of his fine form in the game outside the penalty area as well, criticism rose to a thunderstorm, both in Italy, where fans and journalists preferred Juve icon Alessandro del Piero, often sidelined for Ibrahimovi?'s benefit, and in Sweden. Even so, he retained his place in the starting eleven and Juventus eventually won the Serie A again. Ibrahimovi? was also considered arrogant and troublesome, especially in Sweden where these feelings were strengthened due to several incidents between Zlatan and Swedish media.
In mid 2006, Juventus and Ibrahimovi? lost the league titles of the two previous seasons, due to Serie A scandal: Juventus were also relegated to Serie B. The new staff tried to persuade Zlatan, and other top players, to stay with Juventus, but Ibrahimovi? and his agent were adamant to move. Mino Raiola even threatened legal action in order to extricate Ibrahimovi? from his contract. He signed a four-year contract to Inter Milan for € 24.8 million on August 10, 2006.[2]
Ibrahimovi? started his spell at Inter with a good match against Fiorentina, assisting one goal and scoring another. After that he was somewhat inconsistent for a time, having notable troubles, along with the rest of the team, in the Champions League. However, after the spectacular 4-3 win in the derby against AC Milan everything worked out for Ibrahimovi? and Inter. They went on to a record seventeen wins in a row in Serie A en route to Inter's first scudetto on the field since 1989 (having won Juventus' 2006 title as fallout from the Serie A scandal), and Ibrahimovi? was coach Roberto Mancini's first choice in attack. Ibrahimovi?'s performances have prompted Mancini and Livorno striker Cristiano Lucarelli to compare him with the legend Marco van Basten.
Ibrahimovi? made his debut in the Swedish national team in a goal-less friendly match against Faroe Islands January 31, 2001. The match only featured players from the Scandinavian Leagues. The first competitive game he played in for the national team was the World Cup qualifying game against Azerbaijan in October 7 the same year. Ibrahimovi? was included in Sweden's 2002 World Cup squad that managed to go through to the finals despite playing in the Group of Death against Argentina, England and Nigeria. He only played for 45 minutes in Sweden's defeat from a Golden Goal, against Senegal.
Ibrahimovi? was a regular starter for Sweden in the campaign for Euro 2004, and after a fine season in Ajax he was well prepared for Euro 2004 in Portugal. He joined a fine Swedish team featuring Celtic star Henrik Larsson and Arsenal winger Fredrik Ljungberg. Ibrahimovi? did well, scoring a penalty goal against Bulgaria and rounding off a fine performance against the solid defense of Italy by scoring an amazing late equaliser. He jumped up in the air with his back to goal and kicked the ball one-and-a-half meters above the ground with his back heel into Buffon's top corner. Ibrahimovi? is well known for his agility and his ability to score goals with his feet high up in the air, and perhaps this stems from the fact that he practiced tae kwon do as a youth.[citation needed] The tournament ended, though, with Sweden losing to Holland on penalties in the quarterfinals. Zlatan was one of the Swedes who missed a penalty.
Ibrahimovi? contributed heavily to Sweden's successful attempt to qualify to the 2006 World Cup. Both Sweden and Ibrahimovi? were thought to under-achieve in the tournament, though. He was substituted at half time in one game, against Paraguay, and did not participate in another, against England, due to a groin injury. How much his performances in the other games were affected by this is hard to know. Sweden was knocked out in the 2nd round by Germany.
Not long after his awaited transfer to Inter, Ibrahimovi? was called up to the Sweden squad to face Liechtenstein in the European Championship Qualifiers. While the squad was gathered at the players hotel, Zlatan and his teammates Christian Wilhelmsson and Olof Mellberg decided to break the squad curfew by going out to a nearby nightclub. Notable is that none of the players stated above had anything to drink. The coaches of the national team, Lars Lagerb?ck and Roland Andersson, decided that the three players should be sent home. Thus, they did not take part in the game against Liechtenstein.
Mellberg and Wilhelmsson grudgingly accepted the punishment, but Ibrahimovi? felt that it was unjust. Thus, he refused to take part in the following games against Iceland and Spain. Sweden went on to win these matches without Ibrahimovi?. He also refused to take part in a friendly match against Egypt on February 7, but it has been reported lately that Ibrahimovi? agreed to return to Swedish national team.[3] On March 28th, 2007, in a European Championship Qualifier game, Zlatan made his return. Michael James Owen (born December 14, 1979, in Chester, Cheshire) is an English football player currently with Newcastle United. He has also played for Liverpool (1996–2004) and Real Madrid (2004-5). He plays as a striker and has enjoyed a hugely successful and high-profile career at both club and international level and was the European Footballer of the Year in 2001. When Michael was only seven his father, Terry, persuaded the manager of Mold Alexandra to let Michael into his team of ten-year-olds. Michael was quite a bit younger than most, and very much smaller, but he was soon showing off his "flair" and started in most games becoming known as the club's 'secret weapon'. He also played for his primary school team in Hawarden, Wales, breaking all local scoring records in his first season.
His secondary school was Hawarden High School, where he also played for the school team.
His records and ability attracted much attention from top English teams, but as a Junior School boy, the school had the final say and it was a policy not to allow pupils to sign contracts at such a young age

Liverpool F.C.
At age 11, Owen joined the local school, Hawarden High. He could now sign School Boy forms with a club, and had talks with Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal. He eventually signed for Liverpool, and it was the club who persuaded him to attend the FA's School of Excellence at Lilleshall in Shropshire from age 14. Throughout this time, he studied at Idsall School, Shifnal, Shropshire, and achieved ten GCSEs.
Liverpool signed Owen after he graduated from Lilleshall at 16, and joined the club on the Youth Training Scheme. With Owen's help, Liverpool's youth team won the FA Youth Cup in 1996. After four months, he signed professional forms for the senior team just after his seventeenth birthday in December 1996.
He made his debut for Liverpool against Wimbledon in May 1997, coming on as a substitute and scoring a goal. With an injury to Robbie Fowler, he was thrust immediately into action as a first team regular alongside the likes of newcomer Paul Ince and playmaker Steve McManaman in the following 1997-98 season. Owen ended that season as a joint top scorer in the Premier League with Chris Sutton and Dion Dublin, scoring eighteen goals, and was voted the PFA Young Player of the Year by fellow professionals.
In the run-up to Euro 2000, Owen was suffering from hamstring problems and received treatment from the Bayern Munich doctor, Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfarth.[1]
He proved to be a consistent goal scorer for Liverpool, and in 2001, helped the club to their most successful season in several years. The team won the League Cup, FA Cup and UEFA Cup, with Owen scoring two goals in the last few minutes against Arsenal in the FA Cup final to turn what had appeared to be a 1-0 defeat into a 2-1 victory. Some what surprisingly, however, he failed to score in the incredible 5-4 victory against Deportivo Alavés in the UEFA Cup Final and was substituted out.
Winning the FA Cup and the UEFA Cup allowed Liverpool to play in the Charity Shield and the European Super Cup at the beginning of the 2001-2002 season. Liverpool won both matches with Owen scoring the second goal of the 2-1 win over Manchester United (Charity Shield) and the third goal in the 3-2 win over European champions Bayern Munich. Liverpool thus became the first English team to win five trophies in one calendar year. Just a week later, Owen would again best Bayern goalkeeper Oliver Kahn, as the English international hit a hat-trick in England's 5-1 win over Germany in Munich. It was only the second time that Germans had ever been beaten on home soil in World Cup qualifiers. At the end of the year, Owen became the first English player in twenty years to win the European Footballer of the Year award.[2]
Owen, however, was frequently linked with a move to another club, as he had not been able to win the Premier League or the Champions League with Liverpool, and the player himself stated a desire to play for a foreign club at some point in his career. During the first few Champions League games at the start of the 2004-05 season, Owen sat on the bench to avoid being cup-tied for the Champions League, a factor that would mean that none of the top clubs in Europe would want to sign him.[3] Real Madrid eventually came to sign him for a fee of ฃ8 million on 13 August 2004, with midfielder Antonio Nunez moving in the other direction as a make-weight. The club had previously lost Steve McManaman on a free transfer at the end of his contract, and as Owen had only one year remaining in his contract, the club had to let go of a player who scored 158 goals in 297 matches in a Liverpool shirt.

Owen had a slow start to his Madrid career. He was often confined to the bench and drew criticism from fans and the Spanish press for his lack of form. A successful return to action with the England squad in October 2004 seemed to revive his morale, however, and in the first following match, he scored his first goal for the club, the winner in a 1-0 UEFA Champions League victory over Dynamo Kiev. A few days later, he scored with the first Spanish league goal in a 1-0 victory over Valencia. The scoring spree continued, as he found the back of the net in three of the next four matches to make it five goals in seven successive matches. He ended the season with highly respectable thirteen goals in La Liga, with the season's highest ratio of goals scored to number of minutes played. Following Real's signing of two high-profile Brazilian forwards, Robinho and Júlio Baptista in the summer of 2005, the speculation arose that Owen would return to the Premier League. During his time at Real Madrid, Michael Owen scored for Real in an emphatic 4-2 win over mighty rivals Barcelona FC.
On August 24, 2005, Newcastle United announced that they had agreed a club record fee of ฃ16 million to obtain Owen, although they still had to negotiate with the player's advisers. Liverpool and local rivals Everton entered the fray, but were unwilling to match Madrid's asking price. As the World Cup loomed in a year, Owen wanted to get more playing time to secure his position as the first choice striker in the English squad and joined Newcastle amidst rumours that he had inserted an escape clause valued at ฃ12 million. This was not denied by Newcastle, but they deflected criticism that Owen was biding his time to move back to Liverpool.

On August 31, 2005 Owen finally signed a four-year contract to play for Newcastle United, despite initial press speculation that he would rather have returned to Liverpool.[4] Roughly 20,000 fans were present at Newcastle's home ground of St James' Park for Owen's official unveiling as a Newcastle player.[5] He scored his first goal for the club on his second appearance, the second goal in a 3-0 away win at Blackburn Rovers on September 18 – Newcastle's first win of the season. Owen scored his first hat-trick for Newcastle in the 4-2 away win over West Ham on December 17.[6] It was also a "perfect hat trick", (meaning he scored with his left foot, right foot, and head).
Owen has been very unfortunate in sustaining serious injuries since joining Newcastle. On December 31, 2005, Owen broke a metatarsal bone in his foot in a match against Tottenham Hotspur. He underwent surgery to place a pin in the bone, to help speed the healing process. He was expected to be out of action until late March,[7] but the healing process did not go as hoped and on March 24 he underwent a second, minor, operation. Owen then stated that he should be fit for the final few weeks of the season with Newcastle.[8] His return to action finally came against Birmingham City on April 29 when he came off the substitutes' bench in the 62nd minute. After the match Owen stated that he was "not 100% happy" with his foot.[9] He underwent a further x-ray and made himself unavailable for Newcastle's final game of the season.
A damaged anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, sustained in the first minute of the group match against Sweden at the 2006 World Cup, kept Owen out of regular football for nearly a year, until April 2007. Owen's injury fanned the "club or country" dispute between clubs and the international authorities, as the Football Association's insurance policy would not fully reimburse Newcastle United for Owen's salary of over ฃ100,000 a week, or the costs of employing another player to cover for him; Newcastle chairman Freddy Shepherd threatened to sue the FA for compensation.
Owen began running again on Monday 12 February 2007, when pictures on the clubs official website highlighted Owen running and doing a few minor exercises.[10] He made his comeback from injury on 10 April 2007 in a 4-1 behind-closed-doors friendly against Gretna, scoring after 10 minutes and then setting up fellow striker Shola Ameobi before coming off an hour later.[11] Owen then started his first game for Newcastle United in over a year, against Reading on the 30 April 2007 in a game that Newcastle United lost 1-0. He played the full 90 minutes, having a goal disallowed for offside.[12]
On 9 May 2007, Newcastle chairman Freddy Shepherd reacted angrily to reports that Owen could move on the another club at the end of the 2006-07 season. A report in The Times newspaper suggested Owen could be available for less than ฃ10m and could be a target for the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal. Despite these reports, Shepherd warned Owen "to show some loyalty" and warned him that "none of the big four clubs want him."[13] However a video posted on YouTube in which some Liverpool fans asked Shepherd if they could have Michael Owen back, he responded by saying that he would carry Owen back to Liverpool himself.[14] Shepherd also states his dislike of Owen's agent but praises Owen as a "good lad".[15] This has led many to believe Owen will go if the ฃ9m valuation is matched.[14]
Owen was stretchered off an hour into Newcastles game with Watford on 13 May 2007, suffering with concussion after colliding with team-mate Matty Pattison.[16]

Owen had a highly successful record at Youth and Under-21 international level, although he was only briefly a member of the England Under-21 team before he made his début for the senior team in a 2-0 friendly loss to Chile in February 1998. Playing in this game made Owen the youngest player to represent England in the whole of the 20th century.
Owen's youthful enthusiasm, pace and talent made him a popular player across the country, and many fans were keen for him to be made a regular player for the team ahead of that year's World Cup. His first goal for England, against Morocco in another friendly game just prior to this tournament, only increased these calls. The goal also made him the youngest ever player to have scored for England, until his record was surpassed by Wayne Rooney in 2003.
Although he was selected for the World Cup squad by manager Glenn Hoddle, he was kept on the bench as a substitute in the first two games. However, his substitute appearance in the second game against Romania saw him score a goal and hit the post with another shot, almost salvaging the defeat. After that, Hoddle had little choice but to play him from the start, and in England's second round match against Argentina he scored a sensational individual goal, voted by many as the goal of the tournament and really bringing him to the attention of the world football scene.
England drew that match and went out of the tournament on penalties, but Owen had sealed his place as an automatic England choice and his popularity in the country was huge. At the end of the year he won a public vote to be elected winner of the prestigious BBC Sports Personality of the Year title, the award's youngest-ever recipient.
He has since played for England in Euro 2000, the 2002 World Cup and Euro 2004, scoring goals in all three tournaments. This makes him the only player to ever have scored in four major tournaments for England. He also became one of only a handful of England players to appear in three World Cup tournaments when he played at the 2006 FIFA World Cup, although he did not score and was injured in the final group game.
In April 2002, he was named as England's captain for a friendly match against Paraguay in place of the injured regular captain David Beckham. Owen was the youngest England skipper since Bobby Moore in 1963, and since then has regularly captained England during any absence of the regular captain.
Owen made his debut for the England national B-team in a friendly against Belarus on May 25, 2006, as part of his return to match fitness ahead of the 2006 FIFA World Cup. He captained England B in this game, playing for 61 minutes before being substituted.
As of June 20, 2006, Owen has been capped 80 times for England and scored 36 goals: he is fourth in the list of all-time top scorers for the England team, behind Bobby Charlton (49 goals), Gary Lineker (48) and Jimmy Greaves (44). He and Lineker jointly hold the record of twenty-two goals for England in competitive matches, i.e. World Cup and European Championship games and the qualifiers for those tournaments.
After playing only 51 seconds of his 80th cap in the 2006 World Cup against Sweden, Owen suffered a knee injury and was forced to leave the match; Peter Crouch came on as his replacement. This finished off what Owen regarded as a rotten tournament for him, and completely ruined his chances of being the first ever England player to score in five successive major international tournaments for his country. A scan of the injury on 21 June showed that he injured the anterior cruciate ligament of his knee, and was sent home, no longer able to play in the tournament, and was expected to be out of action for about a year.[17]
Owen underwent successful ACL reconstruction surgery, carried out by Dr. Richard Steadman, on 6 September 2006.[18] The injury sidelined him until April 2007, meaning he missed England's first 6 matches in qualifying for Euro 2008. He returned for the England B game against Albania,[19] and was named in the full squad for the games against Brazil and Estonia,[20] with Owen stating "I feel sharp and, if given the chance, I feel confident when in front of goal."[21]

Owen starred in a series of adverts that charted his life, and rise to fame.[22] He also appeared in several adverts for the washing powder Persil, in a contract worth ฃ1,000,000.[22]

Owen is married to Louise Bonsall. They married on 24 June 2005, at the Carden Park Hotel in Wales, having been engaged since 14 February 2004.[23] They had known each other since starting primary school in 1984.[24] They became parents on 1 May 2003 when their daughter, Gemma Rose Owen, was born.[25] Their son, James Michael Owen, was born on 6 February 2006.
The couple had initially planned to get married at their home, Lower Soughton Hall, but changed plans when they were informed that if a licence was granted for a marriage ceremony the venue must be made available for other weddings for three years,[24] so opted to marry in a registry office in informal clothing and have a lavish reception the next day in the grounds of their home.[23] They then decided that their anniversary would be celebrated on the 25 June rather than the day they officially were married.
Owen also bought an entire street for his extended family (Austen Close, Ewloe), which is in an area close to where he used to live, and also went to school nearby at Hawarden High School.[26] In 2004, Owen's sister Karen was assaulted by two youths, who attempted to kidnap her. When she revealed that she was pregnant, they fled.[27]

The ancient city of Ayutthaya, or Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya was the Thai capital for 417 years. This old capital was founded in 1350 by King U-Thong and was sacked by the Burmese in 1767. Thirty three kings of different dynasties ruled the kingdom.
Ayutthaya is located 76 kms. north of Bangkok. It was one of Indo-China's most prosperous cities and is one of Thailand's major historical attractions. The grandeur of Ayutthaya is reflected by numerous magnificent structures and ruins concentrated in and around the city island surrounded by the Chao Phraya, Pa Sak and Lop Buri Rivers. The area, well conserved as a historical park, has been included in UNESCO's list of World Heritage since 13 December 1991. Ayutthaya covers an area of 2,556 square kilometres.
Ayutthaya is administratively divided into 16 districts: Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Ban Phraek, Bang Ban, Bang Pahan, Bang Pa-in, Amphoe Bang Sai, Bang Sai, Lat Bua Luang, Maha Rat, Nakhon Luang, Phachi, Phak-Hai, Sena, Tha Rua, Uthai and Wang Noi.
Ayutthaya Historical Study Center Located on Rochana Road, this is a national research institute devoted to the study of Ayutthaya, especially during the period when it was the capital of Thailand. The centre also exhibits reconstructions of Ayutthaya from the past with modern illustrating techniques, and supports an information service and a library. It is open daily from 9.00 a.m. - 4.00 p.m.
Chao Sam Phraya National Museum Located on Rochana Road, opposite the city wall, this museum houses various antique bronze Buddha images, famous carved panels and local artifacts. A receptacle at the Thai pavilion contains relics of Lord Buddha and objects of art more than 500 years old. It is open from Wednesdays to Sundays from 9.00 a.m. - 4.00 p.m.
Khun Phan House This Thai style house near Wihan Phra Mongkhon Bophit conforms to descriptions in a popular Thai literary work.
Ancient Forts and Fortresses There are many forts along the city wall and fortresses around the outer circle. As found in historical records, these include Pom Mahachai, Pom Phet Pom Ho Ratchakhru, Pom Chidkop, Pom Chompaphon and Pom Yai. Most of them are situated at waterway intersections.
Grand Palace Currently called "Ancient Palace", this residential palace of every Ayutthayan king is located close to the city wall. The palace was originally built by King U-Thong. During the reign of King Borom Trailokkanat and the later kings, several buildings were added. Most pavilions were completely destroyed in 1767, leaving only brick foundations, porticoes and walls. Dusit Zoo This zoo is managed by the Zoological Park Organisation. It houses various species of tropical animals, including 300 mammals, 1300 birds and 190 reptiles. There is a pond where visitors can enjoy paddling a boat. The area is pleasant and shady, and is suitable for picnics. It is open everyday from 8.00 a.m. - 6.00 p.m.
Chinatown Bangkok's Chinatown is an old business centre covering a large area around Yaowarat and Charoen Krung Roads. There are many small streets and alleys full of shops and vendors selling all types of shops and vendors selling all types of goods. It has been the main centre for trading by the Chinese since they were moved from their old site some 200 years ago. Nearby Phahurat or Indian market is one of the city's renowned cloth centres.
Wat Trai Mit Located at the end of Yaowarat Road near the Bangkok Railway Station (Hua Lam Phong), this temple is know for its famous golden Buddha image constructed during the Sukhothai Period. The beautiful image of solid gold is three metres high and weighs five and a half tons.
Suan Pakkad Palace Located on Si Ayutthaya Road near the Phayathai intersection. This used to be the residence of Princess Chumphot, one of Thailand's leading art collectors. Five traditional Thai houses overlooking a beautifully kept garden display a large collection of Thai arts and antiques. It is open everyday from 9.00 a.m. - 4.00 p.m. Admission fee is 100 baht.
Jim Thompson's Thai House This remarkable Thai-style house was the work of Mr. Jim Thompson, an American who came to Thailand at the end of the Second World War and revived the Thai silk industry. His house, now a museum, is at the end of Soi Kasemsan 2 opposite the National Stadium on Rama I Road. On permanent display are Mr. Thompson's collection of Asian artifacts and many other fabulous antiques. It is open everyday from 9.00 a.m. - 4.30 p.m. Admission costs 100 baht. Volunteer guides explain the collection to visitors.
Museum of Imagery Technology This is the first camera and photograph museum established in Thailand and Asia, which shares the same building with the Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University. Historic photographs and imaging equipment, as well as its technological evolution are on display. Modern photographic arts, techniques and printing technology are also exhibited. The museum is open only on Thursdays from 10.00a.m. - 4.00 p.m. Admission fee is 100 baht. Call 218-5581-2 for more information.
Pasteur Institute or Snake Farm This interesting spot is located at the corner of Henri Dunant and Rama IV Roads west of Chulalongkorn Hospital. It is a section of the Thai Red Cross, where one can have cholera, smallpox, and typhoid inoculations, as well as rabies treatment. The institute has become a popular tourist attraction because of its large collection of live poisonous snakes. It is open from 8.30 a.m. - 4.30 p.m. on weekdays and 8.30 a.m. - 12.00 a.m. on holidays. The extraction of venom from the snake is demonstrated at 10.30 a.m. and 2.30 p.m. on weekends, and at 10.30 a.m. on holiday. Admission fee is 70 baht.
Erawan Shrine Located on Ratchadamri Road, this shrine of Hindu God is very revered by many people who came to pay homage and beg for blessings. Laced flowers and small wooden elephants as well as Thai dancing performances are offered to the statue by grateful devotees.
Ban Kham Thieng This is a classic northern-style teak house, originally constructed in Chiang Mai more than 200 years ago and donated to the Siam Society by its owner and reconstructed in Bangkok. It is located at 131 Soi Asoke (Soi 201) Sukhumwit Road. A variety of Thai flora can be seen in its garden. Also on display are items used daily by Thai farmers and fishermen. Science Museum Situated next to the Eastern Bus Terminal (Ekamai) on Sukhumwit Road, this is an exhibition centre on a variety of scientific knowledge. Royal Barge National Museum This shed, where several royal barges are displayed, is located on Khlong (canal) Bangkok Noi off the Chao Phraya River not far from Phra Pin Klao Bridge. These barges were used on royal occasions and formerly served as war vessels. It is open everyday except annual holidays from 8.30 a.m. - 4.30 p.m. Admission fee is 30 baht. Visitors can rent a boat at Tha Chang Pier near the Grand Palace to visit the museum and observe the way of life along the canal.
Princess Mother Memorial Park This beautiful park, in honour of Her Royal Highness Princess Sri Nagarindra or King Rama IX's mother, is located on Soi 3 Somdet Chao Phraya Road, Khlong San District. It was built near Wat Anongkharam community where she had resided during her childhood. A full scale model of the Princess Mother's original house has been constructed. There are two exhibition halls displaying the Princess Mother's life story as well as the history of this old community. The park is open daily from 9.00 a.m. - 4.00 p.m.
Thai Cat Palace Among the famous breeds of Siamese cat, the white pure Maeo Khao Mani, with the dominant feature of diamond eyes, has been favoured through history by Thai royalty and the elite. In an old Thai-style house on Boromarajajonani Road, a number of diamond-eye cats are bred and shown to visitors. Every cat of this kind has one light blue coloured eye and one that is amber. Valuable amulets called "Phra Somdet" and antiques are also displayed.
Philatelic Museum This is on the 1st floor of the Metropolitan Postal Bureau behind Sam Sen Nai post Office. Saphan Khwai area. It is open from Tuesdays to Sundays during 9.00 a.m. - 4.00 p.m. There is no admission fee. Collections of Thai and foreign stamps as well as post books are on display. Stamps and accessories for stamp collection are on sale.
Chatuchak Weekend Market This large open public ground on Phahonyothin Road is where people buy and sell a thousand local products including food, clothing, household products, handicrafts, pets, and pit plants. The market is a paradise for browsers and bargain-hunters alike. It operates on Saturdays and Sundays. From Wednesday to Fridays, the ground becomes a wholesale for various kinds of plants.
Hall of Railway Heritage This is a train museum on the western side of Chatuchak Park adjacent to Kamphaeng Phe Road. Steam engines, train models and miniature trains are exhibited along with the story of world railway systems. It is open only on Sundays from 5.00 a.m. - 12.00 p.m.
Prasart Museum This private museum is on the outskirts of Bangkok, at 9 Soi 4, Krungthep Kritha Road, Bang Kapi District. Visitors can drive around the area, or have a look at wild animals from Safari World's coach. There are also performances of well trained animals like dolphins, birds, seals, and monkeys. Wat Sothon Wararam Worawihan This temple is situated on the west bank of the Bang Pakong River, 2 Kms. south of the city hall. Enshrined in a new gigantic hall is Phra Phutthasothon, or "Luang Pho Sothon" regarded as one of the most revered Buddha images in Thailand. The image, in the attitude of meditation, measuring 1.65 metres wide at the lap and 1.98 metres high, is always seen entirely pasted with gold leaves by worshipers. Two annual fairs celebrating the image fall in the 5th and the 12th lunar months (around April and November).

According to legend, Luang Pho Sothon floated down the Bang Pakong River to the site of the temple. Efforts to retrieve it were unsuccessful until a villager had a small shrine erected on the site and performed a ceremony welcoming the image to the community.

Bang Pakong River This scenic river originates in the Khorat high plateau and winds through the heart of the town before running into the Gulf of Thailand at Amphoe Bang Pakong. A boat trip along the river can start either from the town market or Wat Sothon, and travellers can go towards Amphoe Bang Khla, a total distance of 25 kms. The trip takes bout 3 hours by long-tail boat.

Ancient Fortress This historical site is located on Maruphong Road in the town. This fortress was frequently used during the reigns of King Rama lll and King Rama V. Many old cannons can now be seen along the wall. Nearby, a public park is suitable for viewing the scenery of the Bang Pakong River.

Somdet Phra Sri Nagarindra Park This public park in front of the city hall houses a large swamp surrounded by various types of trees. It is a suitable place for relaxation.
Wat Pho bang khla This temple is located 17 kms. from the town along Highway No. 304 (Chachoengsao-Kabin Buri route) and another 6 kms. along Highway 3121. It is home to numerous fruit bats, or flying foxes, which hang themselves on the trees within the precincts of the temple.

Monument of King Taksin the Great This was constructed as a memorial site for the historic event when King Taksin led the army past Bang Khla after the fall of Ayutthaya to restore Thailand's independence.

Mango Orchards Amphoe Bang Khla is a major producer for mangoes of various kinds, which are known for their superb quality and taste. The produce is plentiful in March, and the Mango Fair is held during this time to promote this famous fruit.

Khro Hin Son This is on Phanom Sarakham-Kabin Buri Road between Km. 51 and 52. It is a spectacular hill full of huge white rocks. The unfertile area of about 770 acres, has been managed and developed in accordance with the royal projects of experiment and demonstrations on crop cultivation, fishery and livestock, so that farmers can apply this knowledge in their work.

Ben Santitham or the village Social Development Centre This is located in Amphoe Sanam Chai Khet, some 60 kms. east of the town along Route Nos. 304, 3245 and 3259. The centre was established by the villagers to pass on local wisdom and express the traditional way of life to youth. In the village, there are herb gardens, a typical house with an exhibition of farming tools and many devices created by the local folk. Various farm products and herbs are on sale at a nearby roadside open market.

Chachoengsao is located on the bank of the Bang Pakong River. The town was established in the year 1549 during the reign of King Maha Chakkraphat of Ayutthaya and originally used as a centre for armed force recruitment. During the reign of King Maha Thammaracha, the kingdom was in a weak condition due to being defeated by the Burmese. Phraya Lawaek, the Khmer king located Thai people from several towns including Chachoengsao to be his work force.

Chachoengsao is commonly called "Paet Riu", such a name is derived from large sized fish locally caught in the past. The town is some 100 kms. east of Bangkok occupying an area of 5,351 square kilometres. Its area is a low basin rich in rice fields, fish farms and fruit orchards.

Naturally, the main characters are the young priest and the publican, a fiery woman who is hostile to religion. Despite her antagonism toward his faith, the publican always seems to end up helping out the priest. Although these two characters take center stage in the early going, a variety of other townspeople -- each with quirky characteristics of his or her own -- gradually emerge with their own stories. Eventually, it becomes clear that the real star is Ballykissangel itself -- a little town that one wishes time hadn't forgotten.
